Morning Dew & Spider Webs

I walked outside around eight this morning to find some very interesting spider webs all over my pine trees and bushes. I've got some Norway Spruce trees as well as some other bushes. I can't quite remember the names of these bushes. If I eventually recall, I'll update this post. Anyway, with the morning dew and the spider webs, I just had to run back inside to grab my camera. I knew I'd regret passing this opportunity up.

Afternoon Sun Through Flowers

The sun has been changing a lot around here. It is beginning to feel like fall. The shadows are getting longer later in the day, which makes for wonderful photography. As I entered our kitchen yesterday afternoon, I looked out the window to see the sun stream through the flowers out front. I quickly grabbed my camera to snap a few shots. This was the best one. I love it when there's natural light from behind.

Coneflower, Globe Thistle, Blanketflower (Gaillardia), Bee Balm, & Phlox

I've been waiting for the sun to be just right for days now to go out and take some photos of the beautiful flowers in our front garden. Industry, Maine - Federal Row Winter Shots

Thank you. Here are some more photos. I took these in Industry, Maine near Federal Row Road in a field. I believe the month was February. My lady and I had just returned from Carrabassett and were driving by. We noticed some beautiful apple trees with the setting sun in the background. I remember this day well fondly. We got some great shots in this field.

I haven't got camera specs on these photos because they've already been edited and converted to JPG files. I captured all of these with my Canon T7i in the summer of 2018 in Maine. If memory serves, I also used my kit Canon 18-135mm lens. No tripod. I'll describe each image thumbnail below.

- Purple iris flower petal.
- The same purple iris flower petal, but this time emphasizing the water droplets.
- Purple lupine that has yet to blossom. Or maybe this is blossomed.
- Very cool view of a lupine.
- Close up shot of a pink Rhododendron.
- Some creepy looking dried seed type things on a plant.
- I'm not sure if this is called a trumpet flower.
- More purple lupine.
- Close up water droplets in a rose leaf.

Foggy Winter Morning in Maine

We happen to live on an especially beautiful piece of earth. Every morning, my lady and I walk acres and acres of beautiful land. During our walks, we look around and comment on all the work we need to do to make the area even more beautiful. Sometimes we feed the birds and sometimes we just stand and chat. This morning, the morning after Thanksgiving day, we were greeted by not only many an eagerly awaiting and hungry bird, but some leftover snow and fresh fog. There was a weird temperature change going on, which caused all sorts of lovely fog to roll though the area. It didn't take long for us to begin photographing the phenomenon. But before we did any of that, we hand fed the chickadees. That's always lots of fun.



I took a whole bunch of photos, but I like the ones I'm attaching below the best. There were many things at play this morning, from the snow on the ground to the fog to the sunlight and clear skies to the snow melting off the trees creating a glistening effect. It sure seems as though the stars were aligned for good photography today. Enjoy!

By the way, these photos were captured with a Canon T6i and its kit 18-55mm lens. We used aperture priority at mostly F8 and sometimes at F22 to get some sunbursts.
